Why turn an EPUB ebook into SVG images at all?

Will the SVG images keep the book's fonts and styling?

The render uses the ebook's default reading typography, so the SVG images show the text styled as a typical reader would display it — headings, emphasis, and embedded illustrations included.
Is the text in the SVG selectable?

No — rendering an EPUB page to SVG produces a picture, so the text becomes pixels. For editable or searchable output, convert the EPUB to a document instead of images.
Does SVG support a transparent background?

PNG, WebP, and GIF SVG can hold transparency, but ebook pages normally render on a solid page color, so the SVG typically has an opaque background. JPG never stores transparency.
Is my EPUB ebook private during conversion?

Yes. Uploaded EPUB files are processed on our own conversion servers, no person reviews them, and they are never shared. The upload and the converted SVG are both deleted automatically about 24 hours after the conversion, which leaves time to download the result. See /privacy/ for the full policy.
How long does EPUB to SVG take?

It depends on the size and length of the file. Small documents and images are usually ready quickly. Long videos take the longest, because most video conversions re-encode every frame.
Does DRM affect converting my EPUB to SVG images?

Yes — a DRM-protected EPUB is encrypted and cannot be rendered. DRM-free EPUB files convert to SVG normally.
What can I do with the SVG images afterward?
